Swedes Experience Packaging, 2025
After graduating college, I no longer had access to professional printing machines. I didn’t want that to stop me from exploring this new passion, so I built a customized provisional press for my home studio. With it, I started creating personalized packaging for my Etsy orders, featuring my own pattern work.
Materials: Magenta fluorescent water-soluble ink, laser-engraved block, assorted packaging materials.
Process: In-home provisional press
Going Home, 2025
Inspired by the work I did in therapy, where I realized the first time I truly felt stable and secure was when my grandpa took me in, Going Home is a tribute to the room at his house.
In this piece, I wanted to explore my personal pattern language while keeping it from feeling overly busy. I experimented with retarder mixed with iridescent powder, creating a subtle design that only reveals itself when the light shifts across the surface.
Process: Lithographic process (two blocks)with letterpress and letterpress type.
Materials: magenta fluorescent ink, mixed purple ink, retarder, iridescent powder.
Elevator, 2025
For this piece, I wanted to push scale by making the largest print possible on the biggest press my university had to offer. Inspired by my music video Elevator, a fractal zoom-in, I translated the same fractal design into a laser-engraved wooden block to create a movie-sized poster.
Each print is one-of-a-kind, with hand-painted watercolor backgrounds that add texture and variation while keeping the fractal lines crisp and detailed. The layering of ink and iridescence gives the piece both depth and movement.
Materials: Magenta fluorescent oil ink, watercolors, laser-engraved block, acrylic-engraved block, iridescent powder.
Process: Hand-painted watercolor background, engraved fractal design, letterpress (three passes)
Nowhere, 2024
In this piece, I wanted to explore depth through perspective and experiment with using more colors than I typically do. The composition is framed by my personal pattern, while the natural flow of the forms guides the viewer’s eye back into the perspective. Inspired by a place, Nowhere demonstrates my ability to build an environment entirely from imagination, creating a sense of place out of nowhere.
Materials: Paper lithography (3 papers), oil ink, POSCA pens
Process: Each color was hand-drawn on paper lithography, printed on a flatbed lithographic press, with POSCA pens used for outlining
Grovy, 2024
Using the intaglio process, this piece was inspired by my identity. Working from a reference photo of myself, I explored the contrast between my anxious mind and the free-flowing pattern that runs through much of my artwork. During signing, the title was misspelled due to sleep deprivation, an accident that also became a nod to the imperfections and vulnerability woven into both life and creative practice.
Materials: Copper plate, etching tools, black oil ink
Process: Digitally designed and transferred to plate, etched plate, inked plate, printed on intaglio press
MAPS, 2024
Using the monotype process, MAPS was inspired by my passion for digital art. I incorporated my Cricut machine to design a pattern reminiscent of a computer circuit board, then contrasted it with organic forms created by dipping string in ink. The combination of mechanical precision and natural movement reflects the dialogue between digital and organic forms. Ultimately, this piece was purchased and used as the cover art for a friend’s EDM album.
Materials: Oil-based ink, string, stock paper, monoplates
Process: Experimented with various materials on the plate, printed on a roller press
