Artist Bio & CV

Suzanne Schneider is a 28-year-old artist based in Indiana. She holds a BFA in Digital Art from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University, with a minor in Psychology. Her work primarily engages video art, 3D environments, photography, and printmaking. Drawing from psychology, she uses these mediums to explore emotional experience, prioritizing how audiences sit with, observe, and interpret visual environments under the name Swedes Experience.

Her thesis project, Smell the Roses, explored her personal experience navigating trauma related to her brother’s traumatic brain injury. The work combined animation, 3D modeling, and artificial intelligence to construct an immersive video environment. Schneider rendered a single 3D fractal environment and created motion by altering camera perspective over time. A single photographic image of flowers was processed through AI-driven transformation and integrated into the environment to form the final field of roses. Developed over two years, the project evolved alongside advancements in AI technology, progressing from early systems such as Google’s Deep Dream to 4K outputs designed for projection. This allowed the thesis exhibition to function as a fully immersive experience for audience members. The work has been exhibited publicly and led to artist talks focused on process, interdisciplinary methods, and ethical engagement with emerging technologies.

In recent projects, Schneider has continued working with AI-based video tools such as neural style transfer and Stable Diffusion, using them as systems of visual transformation rather than authorship. Her practice continues to develop through interdisciplinary approaches that connect art, psychology, and emerging technologies, with a focus on audience experience and intentional structure.
